THE STORY OF HUMANITY
THE ROLE OF THE SPIRIT
AND THE CALL TO REDEMPTION
Welcome to SPANTHRO!
SPIRITUAL ANTHROPOLOGY is the study of humanity and our relationship to the that of the spirit, throughout time and throughout the earth.
About Spiritual Anthropology aka SPANTHRO
Welcome to deep dives, real talk, & regular appreciation for weirdness…
Through reflection on the brokenness of our world—including challenges within the modern Church in the West—I received the vision for this online platform. People are hungry and searching for authenticity more than ever, tired of religion and more open to spirituality than ever before.
Together, we will speak Biblical truth to questions that are prevalent in this age, but certainly not new…
What is truth and how are we certain we found it?
Is Jesus the only way?
Why is there so much division even within religions?
What draws people to believe what they believe?
What about the corruption in the Christian sphere in history and current times?
ss
What does the manifestation of restoration and redemption look like?
This is a place where we take a look at God’s heart for our world and how exactly His plans are enacted through the various agents of the body of Christ.
We will also build foundations for deepening our relationship with the Lord at any stage of our walk. Just a few themes:
Intimacy with God
Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and developing spiritual ears
Avenues of ministry and gifts of the Spirit
Ministry burnout recovery
Recognizing and breaking strongholds and generational curses
“There is nothing like seeing His people step into the higher call He has for us. He moves through the eclectic parts of our lives to reach specific people, communities, and regions.
That includes YOU…uniquely designed by God to make an impact in this world.”
SPANTHRO Core Tenets of Belief (at a glance):
The Bible is the infallible word of God and the ultimate love letter to mankind.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is fully divine and fully human. Salvation is found through faith in Him alone—by grace, not our merit—through His atoning death and resurrection.
God invites us into a satisfying personal relationship, transforms us through the Holy Spirit, and empowers us for His purpose.
My blog posts are theological in nature and go more in depth with doctrine than what is on this page.
About Me | Laura DiStefano, Creator/Editor in Chief
I LOVE to write. I have known Jesus for over 20 years, but when God interrupted my life in a new way about a decade ago, He expanded my perspective of humanity and our purpose. He also took me into a deeper experience with the Holy Spirit.
Through these personal encounters with the Lord, I received deliverance from some spiritually oppressive conditions as well as alcohol abuse. And I started asking God new questions. I started hearing Him share His heart—for more than just myself. A new sense of purpose was awakened.
I am just one of many people who have encountered the radical love of God and realized that life is much better spent serving Him dynamically. There is nothing like seeing His people step into the higher call He has for us. He moves through the eclectic parts of our lives to reach specific people, communities, and regions.
That includes YOU…uniquely designed by God to make an impact in this world.
God works through the mosaic of our lives, here’s mine:
I have heart for intercessory prayer, prophetic and spontaneous worship, and seeing areas of brokenness in the Church get transformed and redeemed.
I’m a Bible college/leadership school dropout (a story for another day).
Having years of serving in ministry in various avenues-and recovering from burnout- I am currently happily serving as a worship leader and a kids ministry teacher at my church and parachurch ministries in the Philly area.
I’m glad that you are here, happy reading!
My hope is that this online resource will spark something in you. Discovering your part in God’s plan of glory in the earth and equipping you in the journey!
